Our experienced staff carry out badger surveys throughout Shropshire, the West Midlands, Wales and the UK. On development sites, it is recommended that a survey for evidence of badger occupation and/or activity is conducted at an early stage, to help avoid conflicts with project designs and proposals should a badger sett be present.
Badgers are afforded legal protection by the Protection of Badgers Act 1992. Our surveys locate and classify setts, identify badger paths, foraging areas and patterns of site usage and provide an assessment of the likely impact on badgers. Where required, we are able to conduct badger bait marking studies to determine the geography of badger social groups, identify territorial boundaries and provide detailed recommendations for appropriate mitigation.
