Tree Preservation Orders and TPO applications

Where trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) or by their inclusion within a Conservation Area, written consent will need to be obtained from the Local Planning Authority before tree works can be undertaken, including felling, removal, topping or lopping.

We provide advice and recommendations to a range of clients wishing to conduct or commission works to protected trees. Such works may be requested for a range of reasons, including concerns over tree safety, space or shade constraints, as part of a programme of tree management or to enable new habitat creation or landscape enhancement works.

Whatever the motivation, we can advise on an appropriate course of action and, where appropriate, liaise and prepare a formal application to the Planning Authority on your behalf. Clear, concise works specifications in line with current British Standards, together with accompanying plans, he to maximise your chances of receiving timely consent.
